Moderate Politicians is built for people who enjoy political detail and still want to ask hard questions about how a conclusion was reached. We turn official congressional material into summaries, issue pages, bias labels, and daily context that readers can inspect against the underlying record.
This is not a site for moderates only, and it is not an endorsement engine for any party, ideology, politician, or bill. The word Moderate in our name points to the thing we are trying to make easier: measuring political language and congressional action in a consistent way. Readers should be able to see the record, compare the label, and decide whether the analysis holds up.
Our core analysis starts with official U.S. government materials: bill text, roll call votes, actions, sponsors, co-sponsors, member statements, and the Congressional Record as published through sources such as Congress.gov and the Library of Congress. Those records are the foundation for our summaries, categories, and bias analysis.
Trending story pages may also include cited news links when the story format calls for public context, but those citations are separated from the official congressional records. The model is not allowed to invent bills, quotes, votes, politicians, or perspectives that are not present in the supplied sources.
OpenAI GPT models assist with the editorial work on this site. In practice, that means the model receives a constrained set of source text and instructions, then returns structured summaries, issue categories, bias labels, rationales, and story fields. The model is not asked to be a pundit. It is asked to follow rules.

Bills, votes, and Congressional Record statements are treated as the record. Summaries, issue tags, and bias labels are our structured analysis of that record.
The AI instructions tell the model to judge the words, provisions, and framing in front of it, not a politician's reputation, party, or assumed motive.
Bias labels come from a fixed set and are paired with short rationales. The goal is comparison and scrutiny, not a moral scorecard.
Bias labels are descriptive, not prescriptive. They are meant to describe the framing and policy direction in the source material, not whether a position is good, bad, smart, popular, or morally correct. A controversial topic does not automatically receive a partisan label. Procedural, honorary, factual, and low-stance material is pushed toward Non-Biased when the language does not clearly argue an ideological position.
Labels can still be wrong. AI can miss nuance, source data can be messy, and reasonable readers can disagree about political framing. That is why each label should be treated as a claim to inspect, not a verdict to accept.
When we find a material error in a summary, label, category, citation, or link, we correct it. If the change affects the meaning of the page, we aim to make that correction visible to readers. Minor copyedits that do not change meaning may be updated without a note.

Moderate Politicians LLC is an independent business. We do not take editorial direction from political campaigns, parties, elected officials, advocacy groups, or government offices. If we receive sponsorships, in-kind support, data access, or any relationship that could reasonably affect reader trust, we will disclose it publicly.
The project is funded by memberships. Membership pricing and billing terms are handled through Stripe and are described in our Terms and Conditions.
We may market Moderate Politicians in political communities, including Reddit communities where people already debate public policy and congressional action. Those ads promote access to our tools and analysis; they do not advocate for or against candidates, parties, or legislation. We do not currently run third-party political ads on the site. If that changes, paid political advertising will be labeled clearly.
The site is designed for readers who like receipts. Push back on labels, ask for better sourcing, and point out unclear summaries. We welcome detailed criticism, especially from readers who bring the original record to the conversation. Harassment, spam, and hateful content are not part of that exchange.
